WOW!

That was a lot of fun last night at The Flatiron in GSO! What a great line up! What a fun crowd! Who cared if it was Sunday night? Well, I did this morning when the alarm went off & it was time to herd the kids to school, etc. Still, I'd do it all over again and have just as much fun! I hope the rest of the Hurricane Relief Benefit venues did a good business too.

Before heading over to GSO last night, I swung by The Garage here in WS to check out Shalini's Ventures set & the Mitch Easter Combo set. They never fail to impress me - a true Sonic Force(tm)! Plus, all the fab gear! The Jaguar! the Chandler! the Rick!

Scotty was my co-pilot last night for the ride to GSO, and we enjoyed our time discussing who would knock our socks off to meet, since Lee & Susan are still starry-eyed after getting a call from Brian Wilson. (I bet Lee will tell you the story if you ask. Maybe.) Elvis Costello? David Bowie? Hey Scott, here's one I thought of today: the Dalai Llama!

Anyway, the Mapquest directions totally sucked, but we still managed to find the club in time to catch Kavish's set. It's hard to believe this is a "new" band. We've played, what, 3? shows together now? Definitely will keep doing so as long as they're willing!

I have to tell you what a great show Sally Spring puts on. She has a tremendous voice, excellent material and a band that knows how. I recommend you keeping an eye out for when next she's playing. I certainly won't miss it. Plus, she's just a sweetheart.

On our wee-early Monday morning ride home to WS, Scott and I traded recipes. My god, who knew a guitarist could cook? We discussed at length roasting soup bones for onion soup. I can't tell you how good that sounded on a quiet, cool fall evening drive. Or how good it sounds even right now.

So, what does this tell you about our set? Not as much as this next bit: We hand-picked a raucous set that had folks dancing and hooting and hollering! A most satisfying state of affairs.

Check out our upcoming shows!
Until then,
m
